About

Statement

I propose that humor is not merely a tool but an essential catalyst for profound social transformation—an evolutionary response to complexity. My artistic practice focuses on exposing the absurdities embedded in the human condition, articulated through a series of two-dimensional and sculptural works that serve as an autobiographical exegesis of everyday life.

In this context, humor becomes a dialectical bridge between the mundane and the metaphysical, enabling us to confront the existential intricacies of our reality with both levity and intellectual rigor. By synthesizing art and science, I aim to cultivate a space where laughter and deep reflection coexist harmoniously, fostering visions of an enlightened and contemplative future.

Biography

My artistic career began in 2016 when I was invited to participate in an auction at one of Mexico’s top galleries, Galería Oscar Román. This prestigious space has launched the careers of renowned artists like Javier Marín and Jorge Marín and plays a prominent role in the secondary art market, holding works by iconic figures such as Remedios Varo and Frida Kahlo. The auction’s success marked a pivotal moment in my journey, contributing to consistent growth in the Mexican art market and opening doors to increasingly ambitious projects.

Among my recent projects, Cocodrilo (2023) stands out. This exhibition delved into the cognitive spectrum of humanity, from the primitive to the complex. It symbolized the duality between the fundamental and the adaptive, referencing the "reptilian brain" as a basic representation of cognitive function in the animal kingdom. Through sculptural and two-dimensional works that transformed everyday elements by altering their context, the exhibition invited viewers to reflect on their cognitive capacities—grappling with simplicity and sophistication simultaneously. Cocodrilo created a space where contemplation and humor seamlessly intersected, encouraging audiences to question and better understand their minds.

In early 2024, I was honored to participate in the latest edition of Salón Acme, where one of my pieces was selected by the curatorial board for inclusion in the main section of one of Mexico's most prominent art fairs. This recognition led to an invitation to El Gran Salón, which premiered later that year at the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (MAZ). Looking ahead to 2025, my studio has been invited to exhibit at the Czong Institute for Contemporary Art in South Korea, with the exhibition set to take place in the first half of the year.
